Wifey by Judy Blume

I was surprised to see a Judy Blume book in any other area of the library but the children's section so I grabbed it to see what it was. The cover says "the national bestseller about a very nice housewife with a very dirty mind."

What it ended up being about was a bored housewife who wanted more from her marriage than she had (which, honestly, I would have as well). I couldn't imagine living the vanilla marriage she lived. A dinner schedule, a (short) sex schedule and only one position, no intimacy with her husband...who could live like that for very long without wanting more?

It left me wondering about the lives of previous generations. Was that what marriage was really like for many people?

The book is called Wifey by Judy Blume.
